What this site collects, and what we do with it

This page is about this site — the one you are reading. The detailing sites we build each publish their own privacy notice about their own customers, and this is not that.

Last updated 6 September 2026

The short version

  • You can read every page here without telling us anything. No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts, nothing that follows you anywhere.
  • If you fill in Make it my own, we keep what you typed and the files you sent, because that is what we build your demo from.
  • There is no payment on this site, so there is no card number anywhere in it. We do not sell anything we hold, and we do not send marketing email.
  • Ask us to delete it and we will, by hand, and write back to say it is done.

What you tell us

The “Make it my own” form asks for the things we need to stand up a working copy of your site before we talk. That is:

  • your business name, your city and state, your time zone, and whether you work mobile, from a shop, or both;
  • your own web address, if you have one;
  • your name, your email address and your phone number;
  • the colour you pick for your site;
  • the services you list, with a price and a length for each;
  • which of the things we build you said you cared about;
  • anything you write in the notes box;
  • the time you chose for the call.

While you are filling the form in, what you have typed is held by your browser for that tab only, so a reload does not lose twenty minutes of work. It is not a cookie, it never contains the bytes of a file, and it is gone when you close the tab or when the form is submitted. On a shared machine at a shop, the next person does not get your half-filled form.

The files you send

Your logo, and a price sheet if you have one. Both are stored on this site’s own disk, not in a public bucket, and both are recorded with the name you gave the file, its type and its size.

A logo that arrives as a PNG, JPEG or WebP is re-encoded when we receive it. That is mostly about serving something we produced ourselves, but it has a useful side effect: the camera, software and location tags a file can carry do not survive the conversion. An SVG logo and a price sheet are kept exactly as they arrived, because re-encoding either one would damage it.

Each stored file gets a random address of its own. Anyone holding that link can open the file, so we treat the links the way we treat the files: they are not listed anywhere, not indexed, and price sheets are marked so they are never held in a shared cache.

What the server records on its own

  • The IP address a submission came from, stored once against your enquiry. It is there so that an ordinary retry can be told apart from someone hammering the form.
  • A counter in memory, keyed by address, so that one address cannot submit more than eight times in ten minutes. It holds an address and a number and nothing else, and it disappears when the server restarts.
  • A hidden field in the form that a person never sees and a bot usually fills in. If it is filled in we do not save the submission. Password managers trip it occasionally, which is why the message you would get in that case has a human’s email address in it.
  • A line for each thing that happened to your enquiry: that it arrived, that a confirmation was emailed, that the call was cancelled. Email addresses in that trail are written masked, as j***@example.com.

We keep no analytics of our own, and there is no advertising or social pixel on any page. Fly.io, who run the server, keep ordinary web-server logs under their own policy; we do not build anything on top of them.

Cookies

The public pages of this site set no cookies. There is no banner to dismiss because there is nothing to consent to.

Why we keep it

  • To build a real, running instance of your site before the call, seeded with your name, your colour, your logo and your menu. That is the entire point of the form.
  • To confirm the time, send you the calendar invite, and give you a link that cancels it.
  • To tell the engineer that an enquiry arrived, so somebody is actually preparing.
  • To keep the form from being used to send mail to people who did not ask for it.

That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, we do not share it for advertising, and this site sends exactly two emails: your confirmation, and our own notification that you wrote to us.

Who else sees it

Three companies, each doing one job:

Resend

Delivers the two emails

Your name and email address, and everything the emails contain — your business details and the calendar invite.

Fly.io

Runs the server, in California

Everything, in the sense that the software runs on their machine. The files you upload sit on a disk attached to it.

Neon

Runs the database, in the United States

Your enquiry and everything in it, at rest.

Nobody else. There is no payment processor here because there is nothing to pay for on this site. If we end up working together, a separate written agreement covers your business and your own customers’ data, and you would read it before signing it.

Beyond that, we would share your information only if the law required it.

How long we keep it

Honestly: nothing here expires on a timer. There is no scheduled deletion in this software, and we would rather write that down than describe a policy we do not enforce.

In practice an enquiry stays until you ask us to remove it or until we clear it out ourselves. If we built you a demo instance and you did not go ahead, that instance and its copy of your prices go when the enquiry does.

How to have it deleted

Email hello@profitjockeyy.com. Tell us the name of the business, and that is enough — we do not ask you to prove anything or to explain why.

What goes: the enquiry, the services you listed, your notes, the calendar entry, the record of what happened, and the files you uploaded — out of the database and off the disk. If we had already built your demo, that goes too. A person does it, and you get a reply saying it is done.

Two things we cannot reach. Resend keeps its own delivery logs under its own policy. And the confirmation email is in your inbox, which is yours to delete, not ours.

The link in your confirmation email

That link cancels the call. It is a private link: anyone holding the email can use it, so treat it the way you would treat the email itself. Cancelling frees the time — it does not delete your details, so if you want both, say so.

Changes, and who to ask

If what we do with your information changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves. If you have a question about any of it, or you think something here is not true of what the software actually does, write to hello@profitjockeyy.com — the person who answers is the person who wrote the code.

This is a plain description of how the software works, not legal advice, and we are not lawyers. Our terms cover what we promise about the demo and the call.
