What we promise about the demo and the call

Short, because there is not much to agree to. Booking a call does not commit you to buying anything, and it does not commit us to building you a site — that is a separate written agreement, and you would read it before signing it.

The short version

  • The call is 30 minutes, it costs nothing, and nobody is going to chase you afterwards.
  • Before it, we build you a working demo seeded with your brand, your menu and your prices.
  • That demo is not live, cannot take money, and is deleted if we do not work together.
  • Nothing on this site creates a bill. Anything we build for you is quoted and agreed in writing first.

Who you are dealing with

Profit Jockey builds and runs booking websites for independent detailers. The person who takes the call is the person who writes the software. There is no sales team, so there is nobody to be handed to.

Booking the call

  • It is 30 minutes and it is free. Booking it does not commit you to anything at all.
  • You can book from 24 hours ahead up to 14 days out. The 24 hours is not a tactic — it is how long we need to build your demo before we talk.
  • Your call is booked when the confirmation email arrives. If it does not arrive, check your junk folder and then write to hello@profitjockeyy.com. Until you have it, assume you are not booked.
  • Cancel any time with the link in that email. To move it, reply to the email and we will find another time.
  • If we have to move it, we will tell you as soon as we know and offer you the next time that suits you.
  • We will not call, text or email you afterwards trying to change your mind. If you ask us to follow up, we will; otherwise you will not hear from us again.

The demo we build before it

This is the part worth being precise about. From what you send us we create a real, running instance of the product, seeded with your business name, your colour, your logo, and the services and prices you listed.

What it is: a working site. On the call you can click through it, put a booking through it, and see your own menu priced the way you priced it.

What it is not:

  • not live, and not on your domain;
  • not connected to any payment account, so it cannot take money from anyone;
  • not finished — the photographs are placeholders and say so on the page, and anything you did not tell us is a default we chose;
  • not permanent. It is a demo. We do not promise to keep it for any particular length of time, and if we do not end up working together we delete it.

If we have typed one of your prices wrong, say so on the call and we will fix it while you watch. Nothing on a demo is an offer or a quote to anybody — it is not on your domain, nothing points at it, and it is not your site until it is.

What the call is not

  • Not a presentation. There are no slides. We open your site and look at it together.
  • Not a qualification call. You are not being scored, and there is no next stage to get through.
  • Not a pitch we have to win. If what you need is not what we build, we will say so on the call — some detailers are better served by a phone and a notebook, and that is a perfectly good outcome for half an hour.

What costs money

Nothing on this site takes payment, and nothing you do here creates a bill. The prices on the pricing page are what we quote.

If we go ahead, you get a written agreement with the scope, the price and the terms in it, and nothing is owed before you have signed it. That agreement — not this page — is what governs the site we build and run for you.

Your logo, your prices, your name

Sending us your logo and your price sheet tells us we may use them to build your demo. That is the only thing we use them for. You keep everything you had before: your logo is yours, your prices are yours, and nothing here moves any of it to us.

We will not put your name or your logo on this site as a customer without asking you first, and “asking” means a reply from you, not a box you did not untick.

Your information

What we collect, who processes it, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted are all on the privacy page, written against the code rather than from a template. If anything there is not true of what the software does, tell us and we will fix the software or the page.

What we do not promise about this site

This site is not something you depend on. If it is down for an afternoon you have lost nothing — a booked call is in your calendar and in ours either way.

We keep these pages accurate, but they describe software that changes. Where a page and the product disagree, the product is what exists, and pointing that out is a favour rather than a complaint. Nothing on this site is a warranty, and none of it is legal advice.
